YS Flight Modeling: A Polygonal AproachEdit
There are many different ways to create 3D models with computer software, and YS Flight uses a polygonal aproach. Every shape is broken up into polygons, which helps simplify the geometry and rendering of the model.
Every polygon has three basic properties, but there are others that can be added.
- Verticies control the shape and size of the polygon.
- Normals control how the polygon is viewed. Each vertex has a normal, and if all are aligned the polygon will not have any shading issues.
- Polygons can be individually painted to have a color so that camouflage or other artwork/ decals can be created.
